Morphometrics mummified Accipitrid as follow: Sparrow-Hawk Accipiter nisus (Linnaeus, 1758), Tawny Eagle Aquila rapax (Temminck, 1828), Greater spotted eagle clanga (Pallas, 1811), long-legged Buzzard Buteo rufinus (Cretzschmar, 1825), Steppe buteo Short toed Circaetus gallicus (Gmelin, 1788), Global conservation status distribution ranges each throughout discussed.

Phylogeny, historical biogeography and the evolution of migration in accipitrid birds of prey (Aves: Accipitriformes)

Migration plays a fundamental part in the life of most temperate bird species. The re gu lar, largescale seasonal movements that characterize temperate migration systems appear to have originated in parallel with the postglacial northern expansion of tropical species. Migratoriness is also influenced by a number of ecological factors, such as the ability to survive harsh winters. Hence, under...

Environmental component of morphological differentiation in birds.

Geographic character variation in birds is usually attributed to natural selection for phenotypes that reflect locally adapted genetic differences. However, experimental transplants of red-winged blackbird eggs between nests in northern and southern Florida, and from Colorado to Minnesota, show that in this species a significant proportion of the regional differences in nestling development is ...

The Mitochondrial Genomes of Aquila fasciata and Buteo lagopus (Aves, Accipitriformes): Sequence, Structure and Phylogenetic Analyses

The family Accipitridae is one of the largest groups of non-passerine birds, including 68 genera and 243 species globally distributed. In the present study, we determined the complete mitochondrial sequences of two species of accipitrid, namely Aquila fasciata and Buteo lagopus, and conducted a comparative mitogenome analysis across the family. The mitogenome length of A. fasciata and B. lagopu...
